Interventional radiologists are board-certified physicians with extensive knowledge of minimally invasive procedures, the vascular system and internal organs.
Interventional radiology is a medical imaging subspecialty where physicians use needles, catheters and other small instruments guided by real-time images from x-ray, ultrasound, MRI and other medical images to perform targeted, minimally invasive diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures.
Health concerns treated using interventional radiology techniques include cardiovascular conditions, cancer, pain, diabetes, as well as disorders of the liver, kidneys and other organs.
