Making a Difference
Local Athlete Raced for Cancer

On October 2-4, 2010, local athlete and Ironman, Chris Pumroy, tackled "the toughest 48 hours in sports" in the world's premeire ultramarathon bicycle race, the Furnace Creek 508. Chris was one of only 200 cyclists selected worldwide for the monumental challenge. The cyclists traveled across a 35,000 foot elevation gain, through Death Valley, in temperatures often exceeding 110 degrees.

Chris confronted his physical and mental limits, not for himself, but to give all proceeds to the Kadlec Foundation to support pediatric oncology patients. Chris raised over $25,000 towards the cause. Chris & Kadlec Foundation are extremely grateful for the tremendous support demonstrated by the community. We are especially grateful for the generous donations made by Coldwell Banker and HAPO Community Credit Union.
