What is an Intensivist?
Kadlec's Intensivists are board-certified physicians with advanced training and certification in providing care for critically ill patients. They are skilled at identifying complications that may arise and at taking further action before conditions worsen. Intensivists oversee many decisions that go into caring for the critically ill and are dedicated to providing a high level of individualized care for your loved one.
Intensivists discuss a patient’s current medical status and treatment with the ICU team in order to individualize plans of care to enhance the wellness and safety of the patients and families. The treatment team consists of RN’s, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, Physical Therapists, Social Workers and Chaplains.
National studies have demonstrated that hospitals using Intensivists in the ICU have lower mortality rates, shorter hospital stays and reduced costs.
Our Intensivists are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide the best possible care for your loved ones.
