Philosophy of Care
Kadlec Neuroscience Center is a collaboration of physicians who believe in working together to achieve the best possible outcome for each patient. Our teamwork approach allows us to recommend the most effective treatment options which are developed following extensive diagnostic evaluation and a thorough understanding of our patient’s condition and goals. We work hard to provide compassionate, personalized care in what are often complex situations.
We believe collaboration between a variety of highly skilled specialists enhances coordinated care and improves patient outcomes. It is because of this commitment to the best interests of each patient, we sometimes may recommend treatment at another medical facility and carefully coordinate that care with other physicians.
We also believe that it is critical to put each patient at the center of his/her own care and treatment decisions. It is our goal to help each patient clearly understand his/her medical condition, what the treatment options can do and what they cannot fix. Our intent is to address the questions and concerns of the patient, as well as the referring physician, and to that end we encourage open-ended dialogue throughout the process of treatment.
Planetree stands for the philosophy of care we abide by at Kadlec. The goal is to make everyone’s hospital stay less stressful and more healthful. The entire patient experience is different here because we focus on creating a truly healing environment and serving each individual’s unique needs. We recognize that patients are people, not diseases or procedures. We know how important it is to care for your human needs as well as your medical needs. When you need something a little bit extraordinary, the people at Kadlec are here for you and your family.
Our Bloodless Medicine and Surgery (BMSP) program provides a special service for people who do not wish to receive blood transfusions under any circumstances, whether because of conscientious objection, religious conviction or because of fear of the potential risk of blood transfusions. This program gives patients the alternative to receive medical treatment without the use of blood or blood products.
