Having grown up in nearby Spokane, Dr. Lahtinen is excited to be back home in Washington. After a two-year church mission trip to Peru, Dr. Lahtinen completed his bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science at Brigham Young University. While attending BYU, he returned to Peru to conduct research in international nutrition, where he studied nutritional deficits of children in rural villages. He then completed his medical training at Rocky Vista University in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Lahtinen chose family medicine for the breadth of subjects and practices available, as well as for the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with his patients throughout the course of their lives. In his free time, Dr. Lahtinen enjoys skiing, playing music, art, eating good food, spending time with his wife and family, and traveling.
