First and foremost, Matthew became a nurse practitioner out of a desire to care for people. He chose nephrology because he was fascinated with the complexity and function of the kidneys and how they work together with other body systems to affect a patient's overall health. Now, Matthew works with patients of all ages who have acute and chronic kidney conditions including stones, early and late stage renal failure and dialysis care. He enjoys spending time with his patients providing education about appropriate treatment options and healthy choices that can improve their quality of life. Matthew graduated with his BS from Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. He received his Masters in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Richland, WA. He is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Matthew is Board Certified in Family Medicine.

Matthew Palmblad had me do an Iron Panel because at my prior visit I told him that I was repeatedly turned down at Red Cross for blood donations because my iron levels were too low. The iron panel confirmed my iron levels were too low so Matthew set me up for four weeks (one day a week) of iron infusions at Kadlec Hospital. After I was finished with my iron infusions I wrote (thru K Chart) Matthew a question of when we would recheck my iron levels and he replied the plan was to recheck them at my next scheduled 6 month visit. After doing my blood work for this visit, I was looking thru the results and realized he had forgotten to do a Iron Panel so I called and talked with [...] and she said she would check into it and later left me a message that the iron panel information was at any TCL lab so I went down and had the iron panel done. I was very upset with Matthew that he had forgotten my Iron Panel and that is why we had a discussion of my needs as a patient and my expectations of him as my caregiver. I feel comfortable that we have come to a good patient / caregiver understanding.

My wife had questions concerning how much potassium I could eat. Answers were just general. He would not fully answer her questions nor her concerns He did this very same thing to my daughter when I had her with me. I need someone with me so I get all the information I need. My hearing isn't up to par. My wife and daughter come with me for my help, but he seems to think their concerns aren't important
