What is Integrative Medicine?
• A healing-oriented medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focusing on the whole person and utilizing empirically supported therapeutic approaches.
• Focus is on the underlying cause of symptoms and conditions, lifestyle, genetic, and environmental influences. It recognizes the complex interplay of all the body’s systems along with hormonal interactions.
• The patient at the center of the care plan and the provider addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual influences that affect a patient’s health.
