As a nurse practitioner, Thaina is passionate about caring for older patients with complex medical conditions including heart and lung disease, high cholesterol, and diabetes. She seeks to provide excellent care by incorporating new knowledge based on clinical research and recommended treatment guidelines while communicating with her patients and bringing family members and other caregivers into the discussion.
Thaina recognizes that empowering patients through education and the development of a caring, collaborative relationship results in the best health outcomes. She seeks to involve patients and their caregivers at every opportunity to support overall physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
Thaina received her Master and Bachelor’s in Nursing Degree at MGH Institute of Health professions in Boston, MA. She has completed clinical training with Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Vanguard, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Mt. Auburn Hospital, private medical offices and long- term care within Boston, MA. Throughout these rotations she has cared for patients with migraine headaches, brain tumors, lung cancer, drug abuse and detox, chronic low back pain as well as diabetes, and heart disease. Thaina has extensive research experience in breast cancer management and intimate partner violence. Prior to relocating from Boston, Massachusetts she has been a major advocate and support for battered women as well as assisting women to find their own voice.
