Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center Partnering with Kadlec to Offer Hippotherapy
MESA, WA - A local organization that helps kids with disabilities feel empowered while riding horses is making big moves.
Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center will soon start working with Kadlec to offer more services to people in the area.
The non-profit is based in Mesa and is the only Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship certified group in the area.
Their director Jill McCary says they not only give kids with special needs a chance to feel free, but now they will be able to offer a more in depth therapy called hippotherapy with Kadlec's help.
"The hippotherapy is equine assistance therapy with a physical therapist, a speech therapist and being able to partner with Kadlec to be able to offer that is just another way for Strides to help the community," McCary said.
The new partnership officially kicks off in March.
Patients will be able to go through Kadlec for the hippotherapy services.
Strides is always in need of volunteers if you're interested you can find them on Facebook.
(Kadlec therapy services is located at Kadlec Healthplex at 1268 Lee Blvd., Richland)
