KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kadlec and the Gesa Carousel of Dreams are teaming up to save lives and raise awareness.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Kadlec and the Carousel are teaming up. To announce the new partnership, two brave women battling breast cancer shared their stories about the importance of mammograms and early detection.
Every time the carousel is turned on throughout the month of October organizers will donate a dollar to the mammogram fund at Kadlec to help women who are underinsured or not insured at all get mammograms.
"If there is one person who can get an early diagnosis as a result of a mammogram based on what we're doing then this has been more than worth it. " said Jim Hall, with Kadlec.
For the next month a special pink ribbon flag will also be flying at the carousel to raise awareness for breast cancer. The community is encouraged to come out and ride the carousel to donate to this special cause all month long.
