Summer Opportunities

Experience Healthcare Summer Program for High School Students

The Kadlec Experience Healthcare Summer Program is a dynamic, week-long event, held at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, which will immerse students in the healthcare industry. Students will utilize and build their leadership, teamwork, creativity and communication skills as well as develop solutions to real world health issues. This amazing opportunity will allow them to explore the healthcare industry while working collaboratively with professional mentors and a group of their peers. 

When:  June 18-22, 2018 or July 16-20
Sessions run Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Students must be able to commit to the entire week they select
Cost:  $75.00 for the week (daily snacks and lunch provided)
 Scholarships are available
Requirements: Students must be at least 16 years old by the start of their selected week and entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade by fall of 2018. Students graduating 12th grade in spring of 2018 are also eligible.

Pre-Health Professions Summer Program for College Students

The Kadlec Pre-Health Professions Summer Program is a 4 week event, held at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, which will immerse students into the world of healthcare. This amazing opportunity will allow them to explore their education & career goals while shadowing various Kadlec health professionals. Students will also get opportunities to build leadership and communication skills, through presentations and workshops.

When:  Select one of these sessions for 2018:
May 21-Jun 15 or Jun 25-Jul 20 or Jul 23-Aug 17
Students must be able to commit to the full 4 weeks they select
Requirements: • Be at least 18 years of age by the start of selected session

• Have completed at least one year of college

• Have taken at least one science course affiliated with a Pre-Health track (Human Anatomy & Physiology, Human Biology, Microbiology, etc.)

• Upon acceptance, consent to a National Background Check

• College/university unofficial transcript

• One professional letter of recommendation
